9 month stats
You went for your 9 month checkup a couple of weeks ago but I'm just getting around to posting about it. Your weight was 19 lbs. 11 oz (although when I took you for an ear infection a week ago you were up to 20 lbs. 3 oz). Your height was 27 1/2" and your head circumference was 17 1/2". Despite how "chunky" you appear, you're in the 50th percentile across the board (which amazed both your dr. and I--we both thought you would be way up there).
You are wearing 12-18 month clothes, size 3 diaper (although I'll be moving you up to size 4 when we run out). You are still only eating 6 oz. bottles (I did switch you from Enfamil Lipil to Enfamil Next Step) and usually eat 3 a day with 3 meals a day, too. You're eating 3rd foods now (although you still don't have any teeth; the pediatrician suggested we start giving you food with more substance so you'll get used to using your jaws to mash food, etc.). Breakfast is a bowl of cereal, lunch is one of the "dinners" and dinner is usually a container of fruit or yogurt and a container of veggies. While I'm getting your meal ready I usually give you a piece of zwieback toast or a biter biscuit and some yogurt melts to feed yourself. I don't give you juice with every meal--it's usually water which you love (although lately you just like to chew on the spout than you do actually drinking the water).
You started crawling a couple weeks ago so you're nonstop now--it's so funny when you're crawling you're grunting/moaning/whining the entire way to your destination. You've also started pulling up on stuff. You love to stand on your head by making an upside-down V. You've proven you can hang with Harlee--you love to play in her room with her and play with her toys as much as she'll let you.
Bedtime is usually around 6:30-7 p.m. and you'll sleep until 5:30 when you wake me up with a dirty diaper (every morning!!) and then I'll leave you in your crib until 6:30 or so--you'll either stay in there and play or you'll go back to sleep. You're down to 2 naps a day and neither last more than 45 minutes (usually only 20). You do sleep more soundly throughout the night than Harlee did at your age--you don't care if you lose your paci during the night and if you're not sleeping well it's usually because you're teething or sick.
You can say bye-bye and I heard you say da-da the other morning in your crib. You're constantly jabbering when your paci isn't in your mouth. You love to shriek and you have the cutest little laugh (which I can elicit any time I tickle you). You love to give kisses and usually grab the back of my hair on both sides and pull me close with your mouth open wide and slobbery.
You are absolutely crazy about the three of us. You love to just sit and watch Harlee bounce off the walls and anytime your Daddy or I (or Harlee, for that matter) leave the room, you have a fit. Your eyes light up whenever I pick you up from daycare and you love when your Daddy walks in the door from work. I just cannot get enough of your chubby little cheeks. You are definitely a mama's boy and it's so sweet when I'm holding you or carrying you, you'll just lay your head down on my shoulder--I cannot get enough of you, big buddy! I cannot believe (nor do I want to accept) that in less than 3 months you will be 1 year old!
I love you to death, little man!!
